Description
In 1957, this lamp was designed for a hotel in Copenhagen, along with many other features. The table lamp’s white inner shade produces a pleasant downward-directed light. In addition, the shade can be tilted to adjust the light distribution. This lamp series is considered a globally renowned design. In addition to the table lamp, the series also includes a small table lamp, a floor lamp, a wall lamp, and another table lamp, all of which could be seen throughout the hotel after it opened in 1960. The lamp’s clean, distinctive shape and flawless light could be seen in copper and stainless steel around the hotel. The lamp series, together with another lamp model, became part of the overall design concept created for the hotel. Almost everything was designed specifically for the hotel. The similarities between the straight lines in the lamp’s design, as well as the combination of straight and curved lines, can also be seen in the geometric outlines of the building’s architecture.
