Description
In Jaime Hayon’s designs, Eastern and Western cultures meet in a playful modern expression, where he skillfully reinterprets traditional Asian lanterns. Paper lanterns have a history spanning hundreds of years in Asia, widely present across various social classes, with different colors, shapes, and sizes representing different meanings. Here, Hayon discards cultural forms, presenting a series of entirely white light fixtures. The handcrafted fixtures are made from rice paper, combining various sizes and shapes. This series includes three different versions of lanterns and a table lamp, all adorned with ivory-white rice paper and black-stained oak.
